Games like Drift Hunters that run free in a browser start with Mars Rally Championship, a free browser rally game, listed first because it is ours: it slides on loose Martian ground but has no performance tuning and no drift score. On merit, Drift Hunters MAX is the closest match; drifted.com says it was made with the original creator. Burnout Drift keeps the earn-and-tune loop, Madalin Stunt Cars 3 lets you drift with friends, and Sky Car Drift is the one made for a phone browser.

Quick picks, one per use case:
- Closest to Drift Hunters: Drift Hunters MAX, with more cars, more tracks and the same tune-and-earn loop.
- Same loop, smaller scale: Burnout Drift: drift for money, then buy and tune cars.
- Drifting with friends: Madalin Stunt Cars 3, with lobbies, public rooms and 60+ cars.
- On a phone browser: Sky Car Drift, a landscape mobile build with drift trophies but no tuning.
- Loose-surface rally alternative: Mars Rally Championship, our game: the handbrake starts the slide, loose regolith holds it, and the clock does the scoring.
- If you will install something: CarX Drift Racing Online 2 on Steam, $24.99 in Early Access (download, for comparison).
What makes a game "like Drift Hunters"
Drift Hunters, by Studionum43 (Ilya Kaminetsky), is a Unity game with 26 cars and 10 locations. Its loop is why people look for more: drifting earns points paid as cash, cash buys cars and parts, and tuning changes how the car slides. CrazyGames lists camber, offset, brake balance and height plus engine, turbo, gearbox, weight and brakes, and says the browser version is desktop-only, with iOS and Android apps for phones.
A game made this list if it runs in a browser today, is free to play and gives you real car control: steering, throttle and a slide you manage. One-button games and "unblocked" mirror sites are out, and one download is included, labelled as such.
Drift Hunters alternatives at a glance
What we compared: drift scoring, performance tuning, progression, environments, multiplayer, controller support and phone browser support, from each game's developer page, portal listing or store page. Mars Rally Championship's details come from its own code. We did not hand-test every game on every device; a dash means not confirmed. Last checked: October 2026.

The games, ranked by how close they come to Drift Hunters
1. Mars Rally Championship: the loose-surface rally alternative
Our game, listed first for that reason. This is Mars Rally Championship's own site; everything below it is ranked on its merits.
Mars Rally Championship is the odd one out: a free 3D rally game in the browser with no download, no account and no ads, where a slide is a way to make time on a stage, not a score. The handbrake starts it, full steering lock comes back with the handbrake or once the rear steps out, and a sliding tire bites into the loose regolith. Nothing scores the angle. Drift seconds on timed stage runs count toward two achievements, SIDEWAYS at 60 seconds in total and DRIFT ROYALTY at 10 minutes, banked when a stage run ends, finished or not.
The limits are plain: one rover for everyone, no performance tuning, a cosmetic-only garage, no drift score and three stages (The Eight, The Long Run and The Opener). It runs on keyboard, a standard gamepad or a phone in landscape, and up to eight pilots can share a room.
Play free — no download2. Drift Hunters MAX: the official successor
Drift Hunters MAX lives on drifted.com, which announced it in April 2022 as a free browser game rebuilt from scratch and says it was made with the original Drift Hunters creator. The game page lists 39 cars, everyone starting in a free Toyota AE86, and 13 tracks. A Performance menu covers brakes, gearbox, weight, boost and engine, and suspension covers camber, wheel offset, brake balance and ride height. Drift Attack judges clipping points, and later updates added mobile optimisation and an endless street mode with AI traffic.
Skip it if you dislike sign-ups. Online leaderboards, sync and two extra cars sit behind a VIP registration, which older drifted.com pages described as free for early adopters for a limited time; it also removes on-page ads. Current terms and controller support are not confirmed.
3. Burnout Drift: the same loop on a smaller scale
Burnout Drift, from BoneCracker Games, first appeared in April 2017 as a Unity game exported to WebGL. You drift to earn money, then buy and tune cars, and crashing loses your drift points. Its CrazyGames listing counts 12 customisable cars and three tracks, with performance tuning plus wheels and colours. Skip it if you want a phone browser or other people: the listing says desktop browsers, with iOS and Android apps, and an online mode is not confirmed. The counts may be dated.
4. Madalin Stunt Cars 3: drift with friends
Madalin Stunt Cars 3 is a driving sandbox more than a drift game, but it is the one here where you can slide next to other people. Its play page lists single-player and multiplayer, over 60 cars and three maps. A drifted.com guide calls Dockyard, with its containers and machinery, the drift-focused map, and says you can create a lobby for friends or join public rooms.
Skip it if you want points, tuning or a goal: we could not confirm a drift score or tuning, and it has no objective. Phone and controller support are not confirmed.
5. Sky Car Drift: built for a phone browser
Sky Car Drift, from Plum Games on CrazyGames, is the pick if your phone is the machine. The browser build runs on desktop, mobile and tablet in landscape. You drift along a track above the clouds without falling off, and trophies unlock 200+ cars, 120 drivers, 500 emotes and 10 skies, with leaderboards. A January 2026 drifted.com review describes Journey, Career, Multiplayer and Bully modes.
Skip it if tuning is the point: the same review reports no tuning, upgrades or visual customisation, so progression is collecting. Car physics depth and controller support are not confirmed.
6. Rally Racer Dirt: rally cars that slide, with a tuning menu
Rally Racer Dirt, credited on CrazyGames to Valvolex, is a drift-based rally game on asphalt and dirt with 60 challenges, a Survival mode, 13 rally cars and 5 tracks. Its App Store listing says the cars tune for suspension, anti-roll bar, ride height and gearbox ratios, and the CrazyGames page advertises a realtime multiplayer mode. Skip it if you want timed stages; it is challenges and survival. Games like Rally Racer Dirt covers it in more detail.
7. PolyTrack: when you want a time, not a score
PolyTrack, by Kodub, is free on itch.io and several browser portals: a low-poly time trial with medals that ships a track editor. It has no drift scoring, no tuning and arcade grip, so it is here for players who like the chase for a clean lap more than points. Version 0.5.0 added winter and desert environments, 0.5.1 mobile touch-button options, and 0.6.0 (March 2026) experimental multiplayer. Skip it if you want to drift or use a controller; there is no gamepad support, by the developer's choice.
8. CarX Drift Racing Online 2 (download, for comparison)
CarX Drift Racing Online 2 is not a browser game and not free. It is on Steam in Early Access since 7 May 2026 at $24.99, for Windows 10 or 11 with 16 GB of RAM, a GTX 1060 or RX 580-class GPU and 14 GB of storage. The build has career mode, freeride on 6 maps, tandem drift training, ranked duels, a car market and tuning, and the developer warns profiles will be wiped at least once before full release.
Sliding on Mars: what Drift Hunters players should expect
The handbrake starts the slide in Mars Rally Championship, not the throttle. Only the handbrake locks the wheels. Steer-by-wire gives 49° of lock below about 13 km/h and about 20° above 27 km/h, but full lock returns with the handbrake or once the rear slides, so you can catch the angle with countersteer and throttle.
There is no wheelspin to kick the tail out: the tires have no wheel-spin degree of freedom, and traction control holds each tire to 90% of its own grip under full throttle. Once the rover is sideways, the ground does the holding. A sliding tire ploughs a wedge of regolith, worth up to 35% extra sideways grip, starting at about 11° of slip and full by about 34°; on polygon ground the bonus tops out at 20% and on hardpack at 6%. That is the reason a drift bites on loose ground.
Diagram: the handbrake brings back full steering lock at any speed, and a sliding tire digs up to 35% extra sideways grip out of loose regolith.
Mars sets the pace. Gravity is 3.72 m/s² and the grip budget on regolith is about 3.1 m/s², so yaw is capped near 6° a second at 100 km/h. Corners are planned, not flicked.
Practise without a clock in free roam: a 2.5 km square, always at sunset, with no timer and no checkpoints. The tutorial is nineteen lessons and includes the handbrake pivot and catching the slide. Neither adds drift time, so slides there do not count toward SIDEWAYS or DRIFT ROYALTY; only timed stage runs do.
What you give up without a tuning garage
Mars Rally Championship has no performance garage. Its 21 cosmetics sit in three slots (13 paints, 5 rims and 3 calipers) and change looks only. Crates cost 500 credits and are opened on the site, not in the game. A finish pays 40 credits, a medal 10, 20, 40 or 60, and a level-up pays credits plus a crate; no slide is scored or paid for its angle. The crate odds and garage guide has the maths.
What you get instead is a fair comparison. Everyone drives the same rover, and the server re-simulates every leaderboard submission from its input tape, so a board time is a driving time. In Drift Hunters MAX and Burnout Drift the car you bought is part of the score; here it never is.
Diagram: in Drift Hunters the money goes back into the car; here credits end at paints, rims and calipers, so every pilot drives the same rover.
Left off this list, and why
Drift Boss fails the car-control rule. Poki, which credits it to MarketJS, sums up the controls as "tap the screen to drift and lift your finger to stop". It is still a fine quick game on a phone.
"Unblocked" Drift Hunters pages and any "Drift Hunters 2" from unknown uploaders are not the developer's builds, and we cannot vouch for what they serve. Real Drift Multiplayer 2 appears on drift portals, but we could not confirm its developer, so it is not ranked.
