Every Mars Rally Championship Achievement, Including the Hidden Ones
Mars Rally Championship, a free browser rally game, has 26 achievements: 21 visible on your pilot page and 5 hidden until you trigger them. They track distance driven, stages finished, medals earned, drift and air time, daily streaks, and five one-off moments the game never hints at. The full set pays 6,580 XP and 16 supply crates — six rare, eight epic, two legendary, and not a single common one. Nothing is timed, nothing expires, and none of it needs an account.
Where the board lives, and what counts
The board is on the pilot dossier, not in the game: unlocked entries show an icon and a date, locked ones a progress bar, hidden ones a question mark until they fire.
One rule underpins the rest. Distance, drift seconds, air seconds and top speed accumulate during a run and commit to your career totals only when you cross the finish line. Free roam and the tutorial are excluded from that accounting, and a run you restart or abandon takes its numbers with it. The three distance rows are seeded with 2 km of orbital descent, so WANDERER I really asks for 2 km of driving.

The ones that come free with normal play
Six need no plan. FINISHER I and ON THE BOARD arrive on your first completed runs, WANDERER I a couple of stages later, and TERMINAL VELOCITY as soon as you hold 150 km/h. VETERAN PILOT follows on its own: a finish pays 50 XP, a personal best 100, medals 25 to 150 on top. QUARTERMASTER counts crates opened, and achievements and level-ups both hand you crates, so five arrive without spending a credit. New pilots should start with the beginner's guide.
Drift and air time need a deliberate session
SIDEWAYS (60 seconds) and LOW GRAVITY (30 seconds airborne) fall out of ordinary driving. DRIFT ROYALTY at 10 minutes sideways and SUBORBITAL at 5 minutes of air do not. Both are lifetime totals that bank only on timed runs you finish.
The drift clock runs only past a slip-angle threshold and above a minimum speed. The pattern that pays is a wide open section taken deliberately loose: handbrake in, hold the slide on throttle, and let the roughly 2.6 m/s² of grip available on regolith do the rest. Air time is a crest problem — under 3.72 m/s² the rover leaves the ground easily and hangs far longer than Earth intuition expects. Five minutes is still dozens of runs.
Medals, and the two targets that move
ON THE BOARD and GOLD STANDARD each need a single medal. FULL TRAVERSE and MARTIAN LEGEND scale: their goal is the number of stages that currently have a configured route, so the target rises as new stages come online. Three are drivable today and more are being charted, which makes the gold sweep cheaper now than it will be later.
Medal pars are derived from route length divided by a fixed pace, so a longer stage gets proportionally more time. The reverse and storm variants keep their own bests and boards but never award medals, so a medal run has to be the forward route. What turns silver into gold is technique, covered in the guide to getting faster at rally driving games.
Streaks are the long pole
WARMING UP (3 days), HABIT FORMED (7) and MARTIAN RESIDENT (30) measure your best run of consecutive play days, keyed to local midnight. MARTIAN RESIDENT is one of only two legendary-crate rewards, and asks nothing but attendance. A two-day gap can be absorbed by a streak freeze, and you can hold two; freezes drop from rare-or-better crates with nothing new in them. One daily challenge run keeps the streak alive.
The five hidden achievements, and how to unlock each one
Hidden entries show a question mark until they fire.
CRATER MAKER — hit something very hard
Impact severity is energy-based: it reaches 1.0 at 22 m/s, about 80 km/h, and nothing under 3 m/s registers. CRATER MAKER wants a hit near the top of that scale during a timed run. Mesas hit 2.5 times harder than rocks, so a mesa wall at speed with no lift is the reliable route. Expect real damage: do it on a run you have written off, then repair at the start-finish zone.
NIGHT OWL — win a daily that rolled the night sky
The daily challenge seeds its stage and its sky from the date, identically for every player, and the sky rolls NIGHT about 26% of the time — roughly one day in four. The daily challenge page shows which sky is up before you drive. There is no time target: finishing the day's run under a night sky sets the flag, with stars, the Milky Way and both Martian moons overhead.
UNTOUCHABLE — a gold medal with no impacts at all
A gold time and zero impacts recorded on the same run. Contact below the impact threshold is ignored, but anything you would notice counts. It is really a stage-knowledge test: a stage you can already gold, driven once more with margin at the edges. Use your strongest stage, not your newest.
TOURIST — use photo mode
The cheapest achievement in the game. Finish any run, press WATCH REPLAY on the results screen, then press P. Photo mode pauses the replay, hides the interface and puts field of view on the mouse wheel, with S to save a PNG. The flag sets the moment it opens. P does nothing while driving — photo mode exists only in a replay.
DETHRONED — beat your rival by more than 10 seconds
The ladder needs a personal best on the stage first; the game then pulls the leaderboard entry immediately faster than yours and puts that pilot's ghost on track. Beat their time by more than ten seconds in one run and DETHRONED fires. The trick is headroom: a rival assigned against a cautious early best is a slow rival, so learn the stage and come back. Variant runs sit out of the ladder.
What the rewards are actually worth
XP feeds your pilot level, and every level-up pays credits plus a crate of its own, so achievement XP quietly turns into more crates. The 16 crates the set awards would cost 8,000 credits at the shop price of 500 each — the largest single source of cosmetics in the game.
Crates open on the garage page rather than in the game: each rolls a tier before an item, a pity timer forces an epic after ten without one, and duplicates refund credits. Full odds are in the supply crate and garage guide.
Where to start
From an empty board, run three timed stages back to back: that clears FINISHER I, ON THE BOARD, WANDERER I and probably TERMINAL VELOCITY. Press WATCH REPLAY and hit P for TOURIST. Then run the daily challenge daily, watch your pilot dossier for the bars closest to full, and open crates at the garage.
