There is no TrackMania browser version of the 3D game. The current one, Ubisoft Nadeo's free-to-play Trackmania (2020), installs on Windows, PlayStation and Xbox, but you can stream it into a Chrome, Edge or Safari tab through GeForce NOW, whose free tier runs ad-supported sessions of up to an hour. Ubisoft's own browser spin-off, TrackMania Blitz, is a different game: a 2D top-down elimination racer. For medals, ghosts and instant restarts running natively in a tab, Mars Rally Championship, a free browser rally game, and PolyTrack need no download.
Is there a TrackMania browser version?
No, not of any 3D TrackMania. Trackmania (2020), TrackMania Turbo (2016) and TrackMania Nations Forever (2008) are all clients you install, and none of them has a web build. The current game runs on Windows through Ubisoft Connect, Steam and the Epic Games Store, and since May 2023 on PlayStation 4 and 5 and Xbox One and Series X and S, with crossplay across all of them. On PC the minimum is 64-bit Windows 10, 8 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 660 or Radeon R9 270X with 2 GB of video memory.
Two things come close, and neither is a browser version: streaming the real game into a tab, and Ubisoft's separate 2D game, TrackMania Blitz. If it is the loop you are after rather than the game itself, games like PolyTrack and TrackMania, scored on the five parts of that loop, is the wider list.
What free means for TrackMania
TrackMania is free to start. Starter access costs nothing on any platform and, as of September 2026, includes the first 10 tracks of each season's official campaign. Club access, the paid tier, adds the rest of every official campaign, Track of the Day and player-run clubs, and has cost $19.99 a year since January 2024, per Ubisoft's access page. TrackMania Nations Forever, the 2008 Stadium game with 65 tracks, is still a free download on Steam.
The ways to play TrackMania in a browser, compared
Checked in September 2026. Mars Rally Championship is first because it is ours; the rest are ordered by how close they get to TrackMania in a tab, from the real game streamed down to the installs.
| Option | Is it TrackMania? | Runs in a browser tab? | Cost | Account | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mars Rally Championship Play | No: rally, with the same four medals | Yes, natively | Free | None | Two stages; ≈125 m to stop from 100 km/h; no loops, no player editor |
| Trackmania (2020) via GeForce NOW | Yes, the current game | Yes, streamed | Free | NVIDIA and Ubisoft | Ad and queue first; one-hour sessions; 15 Mbps and under 80 ms |
| TrackMania Turbo via Xbox Cloud Gaming | Yes, the 2016 game | Yes, streamed | Game Pass Ultimate | Microsoft | Paid, and the older game |
| PolyTrack | No: an independent game inspired by it | Yes, natively | Free | None | Lighter, more forgiving physics |
| TrackMania Blitz | Official spin-off, but 2D top-down | Yes, natively | Free | None | The car accelerates itself; elimination races, not time trials |
| Trackmania (2020), installed | Yes | No | Free Starter access; Club $19.99 a year | Ubisoft | PC or console install; GTX 660-class GPU on PC |
| TrackMania Nations Forever | Yes, the 2008 Stadium game | No | Free | Steam | Windows download; one environment |
Only a stream puts the actual game in a tab. Everything that runs natively in one is something else.
How do you play the real TrackMania in a browser tab?
Stream it. GeForce NOW, NVIDIA's cloud gaming service, runs Trackmania on a server and sends the picture to your tab, and with Starter access on its free tier the whole route costs nothing. It takes three steps:
- Create a free NVIDIA account and open play.geforcenow.com in Chrome on Windows, macOS or ChromeOS, Edge on Windows, or Safari 16.4 or later on a Mac.
- Find Trackmania and link your Ubisoft account when asked.
- Launch it. Starter access loads without a purchase.
BeamNG.drive has no browser version either, and whether BeamNG.drive runs in a browser covers streaming that one.
What GeForce NOW needs from you
NVIDIA's system requirements ask for at least 15 Mbps for 720p at 60 fps, 25 Mbps for 1080p at 60 fps, and under 80 ms of latency to an NVIDIA data centre. NVIDIA recommends under 40 ms, and a wired connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
The free tier's terms, as of September 2026: up to two minutes of video ads before each session while a server is found, the lowest queue priority, and a one-hour cap per session. You can queue again straight away, and the paid tiers drop the ads and run longer sessions.
The catch for a game decided by hundredths
A stream puts delay between your key press and the car's reaction on screen: the network round trip, plus the time to encode and decode the video. For learning a campaign, that is fine. When the gap to an author medal is a few hundredths, it is a real handicap, and no setting removes it.
What about Amazon Luna and Xbox Cloud Gaming?
Amazon Luna carried Trackmania from May 2023, but Amazon wound down Luna's Ubisoft integration between April and June 2026, so do not plan around it. As of September 2026, Xbox Cloud Gaming streams TrackMania Turbo, the 2016 game, rather than the current one, at xbox.com/play for Game Pass Ultimate members.
Which browser games play like TrackMania?
Two games in this comparison run the TrackMania loop of medals, ghosts and instant restarts natively in a tab: Mars Rally Championship, first because it is ours, and PolyTrack, which follows on its merits and is the closer match. TrackMania Blitz is not one of them.
Mars Rally Championship: the same medal ladder, on Mars
Our game, listed first for that reason. This is Mars Rally Championship's own site; everything below it is ranked on its merits, and for pure TrackMania feel PolyTrack is closer.
Mars Rally Championship is a free browser rally game with no download and no account, and it grades a stage run on the four medals a TrackMania player already reads: bronze, silver, gold and author. In TrackMania the author time is the track creator's validation run; here gold, silver and bronze are derived from the timed route length at 16, 12.5 and 9 m/s, and only the author time is set by hand. Stage 1, a 1,164 m timed line through 8 checkpoints, works out to gold 1:12.8 and author 1:04.0.
The retry loop is the part TrackMania players will recognise. R restarts the stage from anywhere and skips the countdown. A translucent ghost drives with you: the stage record until you have a time, then, by default, the pilot just ahead of your best time on the board, and beating them brings up the next name. Each gate you cross flashes your split against that ghost to the hundredth, such as +0.42 or −2.18.
Every leaderboard time is re-simulated on the server from the run's recorded inputs before it posts. On the Stage 1 board, every run has REPLAY, which rebuilds it from those inputs, and RACE, which puts its ghost on the road with you; an opt-in rival field races the top three board ghosts at once.
The limits are real. This is rally, on terrain sculpted to Martian morphologies under 3.72 m/s² gravity, where stopping from 100 km/h takes about 125 m and 9 seconds, so corners are planned early rather than flicked. There are no loops, stunt pieces or wallrides, and no track editor for players; the stage editor is an in-house development tool. Two stages are drivable today, Stage 2 has no author time yet, and the first load of a stage streams about 6 MB of terrain.
Play free — no downloadPolyTrack: the closest thing to TrackMania in a tab
PolyTrack, by the independent developer Kodub, gets called a TrackMania copy, and the comparison is fair: it is inspired by TrackMania, not affiliated with Ubisoft, and free to play in a browser from its itch.io page and on portals such as CrazyGames. Tracks snap together from low-poly pieces, with medal times, leaderboards and ghosts; since version 0.5.0 you can race up to ten ghosts at once.
The editor is the part Mars Rally Championship cannot match. Players build tracks, export them and share them, which is why PolyTrack never runs out of road. Version 0.6.0, released on 10 March 2026, added experimental multiplayer.
PolyTrack vs TrackMania comes down to the car. PolyTrack's is lighter and more forgiving, so improvement comes mostly from a better line rather than from delicate throttle control. It is easier to start and less deep at the top. If TrackMania's feel is what you want in a tab, open PolyTrack first.
Is TrackMania Blitz the real TrackMania?
It is official, and it is not the same game. TrackMania Blitz is one of the Ubisoft Nano party games that Ubisoft Da Nang made to run on phones, tablets and desktops, as Ubisoft's own write-up explains. It is a top-down 2D racer against 15 other players, with turbo boosts, loops and jumps.
The driving is where it parts company. The car accelerates on its own and you only steer, and the slowest drivers are knocked out as the race goes on. There is no 3D, no track editor and no time attack against an author medal.
You can play it on YouTube Playables and on the usual browser-game portals. It is a genuine Ubisoft game that shares TrackMania's name, turbo boosts and loops, not its driving.
What do TrackMania unblocked sites actually run?
Usually TrackMania Blitz, or an unrelated game borrowing the name. Pages titled "TrackMania unblocked" or "play TrackMania online" cannot be running the 3D games, since none of them has a browser build: a 3D TrackMania that loads in a tab without a streaming service is something else. An "unblocked" label is also a claim about someone else's network, not a promise about your school's.
There was an earlier browser TrackMania. Mini TrackMania was a 2005 Flash promotion for TrackMania Sunrise, made by Inbox Digital: side-on 2D, one track, ramps and nitro, played with the left and right arrow keys. It went with Flash, which Adobe retired at the end of 2020.
There is no official Trackmania app for Android or iOS either, as of September 2026, so treat any APK that claims to be one as third-party.
The rest of what ranks for "TrackMania browser" is about browsing, not playing in a browser. The ManiaLink page at explore.trackmania.com opens only in TrackMania Forever's in-game browser, Trackmania Exchange is the community's map site, and Gbx Map Browser is a desktop tool that manages and launches map files for an installed game.
Can you play TrackMania on a Chromebook, a Mac or a phone?
On a Chromebook, not as an install, because the PC version needs Windows. GeForce NOW in Chrome is the route, on a Chromebook with at least 4 GB of RAM, and school networks may block streaming sites even when the game is free. Racing games that run on a Chromebook covers what a managed machine can open without streaming.
On a Mac, there is no macOS version either, so it is the same stream, in Chrome or in Safari 16.4 or later.
On a phone, GeForce NOW can stream the real game through its Android app or in Safari on an iPhone, but plan on a gamepad: NVIDIA requires one on iPhone. The official game built for a phone is Blitz. On a touch screen under 1200 px wide, Mars Rally Championship shows GAS, BRAKE and HANDBRAKE buttons, an analog steering track and gear chips, in landscape.
If you race TrackMania on a pad, bring it. Mars Rally Championship reads a standard-mapping gamepad with RT for throttle and LT for brake, and a trigger can feather the brake, where keyboard and touch braking is all or nothing. Browser games with controller support lists the other tab games that read one.
For friends, Blitz is multiplayer by design, PolyTrack added experimental multiplayer in 0.6.0, and Mars Rally Championship puts up to eight pilots on one stage from an invite link, with no car-to-car collisions.
Where to try this
If you want the loop in a tab right now, start Stage 1, the calibration lap. The Stage 1 page lists all four pars before you commit, from a 2:09 bronze down to a 1:04 author time. The daily challenge is one date-seeded stage and sky, the same for everyone and reset at local midnight, which is as close as the game comes to a track of the day.
